A robot-assisted total hip replacement surgery (total hip arthroplasty) was successfully performed at Çorlu Vatan Private Hospital by our Orthopaedics and Traumatology Specialist, Dr. Aydın Gürbüz.
Our 55-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital with severe complaints that had gradually restricted his daily activities:
* Persistent pain in the left hip
* Significant difficulty walking
* Limping
Following clinical examinations and imaging studies, advanced degenerative damage to the hip joint was diagnosed. This condition had caused restricted mobility, an impaired gait, and a 3 cm difference in leg length.
*How was the surgery performed?*
Using an advanced robot-assisted surgical system that enables highly precise planning and accurate positioning of the implants, the following procedures were performed:
* Removal of the damaged joint surfaces
* Placement of a total hip prosthesis individually selected according to the patient’s anatomy
* Restoration of the correct joint alignment and centre of rotation
* Balancing of the soft tissues
* Equalisation of the length of both legs
This high level of precision is essential for joint stability, improved walking ability, and the long-term function of the prosthesis.
🌟 *The Result*
The patient was discharged in good general condition, with:
* Reduced pain
* Improved mobility
* A more stable and balanced gait
