At Private Çorlu Vatan Hospital, a 71-year-old patient successfully underwent robot-assisted total knee replacement surgery. The procedure was performed by Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Dr. Levent Tan.
The patient presented to our hospital with severe pain in the right knee, inability to fully straighten the leg and significant difficulty walking. These complaints had begun to limit his daily activities.
Imaging examinations revealed advanced wear of the knee joint, known as gonarthrosis, accompanied by leg deformity and severely restricted mobility.
To provide long-term pain relief and restore freedom of movement, total knee replacement surgery was planned.
The operation was performed using a robotic surgical system, which allows high precision and a personalized approach. The damaged joint surfaces were carefully removed, the soft tissue structures were balanced with great accuracy, and a modern prosthesis suitable for the patient’s anatomy was implanted.
